Landscaping in Cumbernauld
Patios, retaining walls, fencing and full garden transformations across Cumbernauld — designed for sloping plots and heavy clay, built to survive a Scottish winter.
Local knowledge, local standards
Cumbernauld is largely built on heavy clay with a lot of 1960s and 70s housing stock, which means two things on nearly every job: drainage matters more than people expect, and original driveways and paths were laid far too thin. We dig properly rather than skim over what's already failing.
We work right across Cumbernauld — Abronhill, Condorrat, Kildrum, Seafar, Carbrain, Westfield and the newer estates around Blackwood and Balloch — and the town's sloping plots mean we do a lot of retaining and re-levelling work alongside the main install.
Being based in North Lanarkshire, Cumbernauld is on our doorstep. That means quick site visits, short lead-in times, and no travel loading on the quote.

My Cumbernauld garden slopes badly — can you level it?
Yes, that's one of the most common jobs we do here. Depending on the fall we'll either terrace the garden with retaining walls and steps or cut and fill to create a usable level area. Both need proper drainage behind the wall, which is where most DIY retaining fails.
Is porcelain or sandstone better for a Cumbernauld garden?
Porcelain is virtually non-porous, so it doesn't stain or green up and cleans with a brush — the better bet in shaded or north-facing gardens. Sandstone is warmer looking and suits older properties. Both are laid on a full mortar bed with a primed slurry, never on dabs.
Can you sort a waterlogged lawn?
Usually yes. Clay-heavy Cumbernauld gardens often just need land drainage and a proper topsoil build-up before turfing. If it's a persistent problem we may recommend artificial grass over a free-draining base instead.
As well as Cumbernauld, we carry out landscaping in Kilsyth, Cumbernauld Village, Condorrat, Moodiesburn, Kirkintilloch and the surrounding areas. If you're not sure whether you're in our patch, give us a call — we'll tell you straight.
